Parkside Chapter President recognized for her hard work
Naomi Epp has been a stellar leader for the Best Buddies program at Parkside High School in Dundas. After launching the program last year, while only in grade nine, Naomi has worked to strengthen her chapter. Recently, Naomi's hard work was recognized by the Dundas-Ancaster-Flamborough Soroptimist Club.
"A little while ago, I had the pleasure of accepting the award Violet Richardson from a Woman's Business Group called Soroptimist, an international organization that helps woman young and old by giving them awards to encourage them through their life.
"There was an awards dinner that I attended with my best buddy and our families.
The award was worth $500; $300 will go to my education while the left over $200 will go to Parkside's Best Buddies.
"I received this award because of all the work I have done to create a Best Buddies chapter at my high school, Parkside High School. Not only receiving the award was a high light of that night, but also dressing up with my best buddy Chantel and getting our hair done together was a lot of fun.
"I know that Best Buddies has really changed my life, and others at Parkside."
Congratulations Naomi!!
