Manitoba is quickly become a great Best Buddies province
The Best Buddies program is experiencing a lot of growth and excitement in Manitoba! Grant Park High School, Sturgeon Height Collegiate and École/Collège régional Gabrielle-Roy are all great examples of how Manitoba is quickly becoming a passionate and dedicated Best Buddies province.
Grant Park High School is in the process of establishing a Best Buddies chapter. The staff and student volunteers are all very eager to see many friendships formed.
The well established Sturgeon Heights Collegiate chapter in Winnipeg, is continuing to see progress. With a dedicated Special Education Advisor and a confident Chapter President, this chapter has great potential and will be enjoying their Meet and Greet on November 3 to kick off their third year as part of Best Buddies Canada.
Manitoba is a diverse and multicultural province and has many opportunities for rural and French schools. École/Collège régional Gabrielle-Roy is in the process of representing Winnipeg's first French Best Buddies chapter. The school has an enthusiastic Special Education Advisor who has already recruited several excited students to join the chapter.
Many schools in Winnipeg are working hard to get their chapters started. Through the spirit of numerous hard working teachers and student volunteers, we are sure to see Manitoba as a passionate and dedicated Best Buddies province.
