Spirit of Friendship Award

While we hope that every Buddy match is wonderful, the Spirit of Friendship Award recognizes those pairs whose match encompasses the true meaning of friendship, and who have become ambassadors of the Best Buddies program.

The winning pair is presented an award at the annual Best Buddies Gala in recognition of their success.

Pairs that have been matched for at least one academic year and whose friendship will continue long after their participation in the program is over, pairs who have had a significant impact on each others lives and pairs who have involved each other in their respective lives truly represent the spirit of friendship, and this award is for those matches.

The Spirit of Friendship pair will become our spokes-pair for the year following their award, and will be expected to be available to participate in special events in their region.

Amy and Dave

from the Wilfrid Laurier University - Brantford chapter, received the Spirit of Friendship Award for 2011.

The pair has been friends for two years. Over that time, they’ve developed an exceptional friendship and a bond exceeding what Best Buddies could expect of them. Read a letter from Amy, and Amy and Dave's gala speech.

We are now acceptiong nominations for the 2012 Spirit of Friendship Award.
