Guelph's Best Buddies give back

To celebrate Best Buddies month, the University of Guelph Best Buddies chapter decided to give back to their community be donation clothes “All of our buddies brought in new t-shirts and sweaters to donate to St. Joseph’s Healthcare Centre and to the homeless people of Guelph,” explained chapter president Yasmin Kazemi.

Best Buddies enriches lives in Simcoe

Nadia George opens her door, her family and her heart as a Best Buddy, a mentor for a student with special needs. After graduating from Georgian College’s social services worker program, the 30-year-old mother of two pre-teens began studying social work at Laurentian University’s Georgian College site and joined the Best Buddies chapter. “It’s about having the right to socialize & be part of your community," said George.

Dawson College chapter raises funds and awareness

On April 10, “Best Buddies Dawson” sold tickets around the school for a raffle in order to raise money for activities between the students and their buddies. "It was a great turnout,” said Stephanie Blanchette, chapter co-president. "We are definitely happy."

Belleville Best Buddies co-president is a super volunteer

Abby Emdin, a co-president from Best Buddies' chapter at Nicholson Catholic College is a super volunteer! TD recently recognized her work with a $70,000 scholarship. "The scholarship is going to allow me to focus on my studying, and on promoting World Without Worms, Best Buddies, and the causes that are important to me" said Emdin.
