Vicki MacCrimmon

Executive Director

Vicki joined Best Buddies in February 2018 as Executive Director.  She has over 20 years experience in fundraising and operations and was most recently at the University of Toronto for over 12 years.  Vicki is delighted to be part of the Best Buddies Canada team and is passionate about promoting the program to create a society of future leaders that foster communities built on inclusion, diversity and friendship.   Vicki and her family enjoy riding their bikes, international cuisine and adventure travel.  One of their favourite trips was to Costa Rica.  Feel free to reach out to Vicki to share your ideas.


Isabelle Bhola

National Program Manager

Isabelle has been part of Best Buddies since 2016. She is the Senior Program Manager working mainly out of her office in Montreal with regular visits to the head office in Toronto. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Ottawa, a Master’s in Public Policy and Public Administration (Concordia University) and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the John Molson School of Business. Isabelle loves promoting inclusion and friendship through all the amazing programs that Best Buddies has to offer. In her free time, you will find her enjoying good music, good food, and especially good company! Don’t hesitate to contact her if you want to say hello!


Ethel Maamo

Program Manager

Ethel Maamo is a former program coordinator for Best Buddies Philippines in Cebu. She moved to Ottawa in 2008 and became part of Best Buddies Canada. Her work in international and community development allowed her to work in diverse communities, organizations, and institutions in the South Pacific, South East Asia, and South Asian Regions. Her expertise lies in the field of capacity building, facilitation and training, volunteer management and program development. She strongly supports inclusion and community empowerment to make a positive change in the world.


Cindy Myers

Program Manager

Cindy Myers is our Regional Program Manager - British Columbia & Alberta and lives on Vancouver Island. Cindy began working with Best Buddies in 2009 while temporarily living in Halifax and took over the western chapters in 2014 upon her return to BC. She has worked in the not for profit sector most of career, believing that loving what you do it more important than the salary you receive.  When not working, you are likely to find Cindy wherever the sun is shining as her three favorite things are the sun, traveling and children with intellectual disabilities. She has a personal goal this year of visiting a Best Buddies chapter in either the southern states or Mexico while vacationing there.

Kimberly Janohan

Office Manager / Program Advisor

Kimberly has been a part of Best Buddies since 2016, and is currently the Office Manager in Toronto. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Guelph as well as a diploma from Humber College. Best Buddies has taught her a lot – but she particularly enjoys working with the rest of the staff on projects such as assisting with organizing events, heading up the social media accounts, and especially meeting and speaking with all the volunteers across the country. When she’s not working you can find her enjoying local restaurants, board game cafes, and taking long road trips. If you know of any good places to eat please send her an e-mail anytime.


Deanna Alakoozai

Program Support

Deanna Alakoozai is a program support worker at Best Buddies Canada. She has always been passionate to work in nonprofit organizations and make a change in people’s lives. She graduated from George Brown College with a Counseling Diploma and a Bachelors of Social Work Degree from York University. While raising a cousin who has special needs, Deanna has learned the beauty that every person holds within, and how unique we all are. If you are a new school planning to start the program, she helps set you up, and support you along the way. She also checks in with current chapters to make sure that they have the support that they need. If you ever need some compelling new ideas for your chapter just give Deanna a call and she would love to run by some innovative ideas!
