Vicki MacCrimmon

Executive Director

Vicki joined Best Buddies in February 2018 as Executive Director.  She has over 20 years experience in fundraising and operations and was most recently at the University of Toronto for over 12 years.  Vicki is delighted to be part of the Best Buddies Canada team and is passionate about promoting the program to create a society of future leaders that foster communities built on inclusion, diversity and friendship.   Vicki and her family enjoy riding their bikes, international cuisine and adventure travel.  One of their favourite trips was to Costa Rica.  Feel free to reach out to Vicki to share your ideas.

Isabelle Bhola

National Program Manager

Isabelle has been part of Best Buddies since 2016. She is the Senior Program Manager and oversees all the programming across Canada. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Ottawa, a Master’s in Public Policy and Public Administration (Concordia University) and a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration from the John Molson School of Business. Isabelle loves promoting inclusion and friendship through all the amazing programs that Best Buddies has to offer. In her free time, you will find her enjoying good music, good food, and especially good company! Don’t hesitate to contact her if you want to say hello!


Kimberly Janohan

Office Manager / Program Advisor

Kimberly has been a part of Best Buddies since 2016, and is currently the Office Manager in Toronto. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Guelph as well as a diploma from Humber College. Best Buddies has taught her a lot – but she particularly enjoys working with the rest of the staff on projects such as assisting with organizing events, heading up the social media accounts, and especially meeting and speaking with all the volunteers across the country. When she’s not working you can find her enjoying local restaurants, board game cafes, and taking long road trips. If you know of any good places to eat please send her an e-mail anytime.

Deanna Alakoozai

Program Manager

Deanna Alakoozai is a Program Manager at Best Buddies Canada. She has always been passionate working towards a cause and making a change in people’s lives. She graduated from George Brown College with a Counseling Diploma and a Bachelors of Social Work Degree from York University. While volunteering with children who have special needs, Deanna has learned that each child holds a unique ability. If you are a new school planning to start the program, she helps set you up, and supports you along the way. She also checks in with current chapters to make sure that they have the support that they need. If you ever need some compelling new ideas for your chapter just give Deanna a call and she would love to run by some innovative ideas!


Cindy Myers

Program Manager

Cindy Myers is our Regional Program Manager - British Columbia & Alberta and lives on Vancouver Island. Cindy began working with Best Buddies in 2009 while temporarily living in Halifax and took over the western chapters in 2014 upon her return to BC. She has worked in the not for profit sector most of career, believing that loving what you do it more important than the salary you receive.  When not working, you are likely to find Cindy wherever the sun is shining as her three favorite things are the sun, traveling and children with intellectual disabilities. She has a personal goal this year of visiting a Best Buddies chapter in either the southern states or Mexico while vacationing there.

Melissa Brooker

Program and Conference Coordinator

Melissa Brooker is a Program Coordinator at Best Buddies Canada part time while also currently completing her Masters in Social Work. She has graduated with a degree in Sociology from Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Autism and Behavioural Sciences from George Brown College. Previously, Melissa worked as an Instructor Therapist doing IBI therapy for children on the Autism Spectrum. Melissa has always been passionate about working with children and promoting inclusion for those with and without disabilities. She now loves to bring these experiences to the chapters she works with. Outside of work, you can find Melissa testing out new recipes for her friends and family. Anita Newling

Program Manager

Anita joined Best Buddies in November 2018. She is based in Fredericton, NB, and looks after all our chapters in the Atlantic Provinces. Anita was a Paediatric Nurse in the UK before moving to Canada. In 2012 Anita trained as a Montessori Educator and has since worked in public and private schools, as well as taught music and drama programs. Anita and her family are very involved in music and theatre in their community and also enjoy cooking and playing board games. Anita loves visiting and chatting with her chapters. The teachers, students and staff that dedicate their time to foster an inclusive community are constantly inspiring. If you ever need any support don’t hesitate to get in touch. Micha Theil

Program Manager

Micha Theil is our Program Manager for British Columbia, Saskatchewan, & Manitoba and lives in North Vancouver. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of British Columbia where he played on the Thunderbirds football team. Micha has a passion for helping others and enjoys meeting new people every day. Having previously worked in commercial real estate, Micha leans on his experience to deliver high-quality service and support for all his Best Buddies chapters. Hailey Gallagher

Program Coordinator

Hailey Gallagher is a Program Support Worker at Best Buddies Canada. She graduated with her Bachelor of Child and Youth Care from Humber College and has over 9 years of experience working with children and youth. Hailey has a passion for making connections and building rapport with the children and youth she meets. After work hours, Hailey enjoys to spend time at her cottage and on the water.
