University/College Students
Each University/College Best Buddies chapter requires committed students to be matched in one-to-one friendships with adults with intellectual disabilities from the community. Students can also take on a leadership role with their chapter in addition to being matched with an adult with an intellectual disability.

High School Students and Teachers
Each High School Best Buddies chapter requires committed students to create friendships in their school and teachers to help ensure that the chapter runs smoothly. Student volunteers can also take on a leadership role with their chapter in addition to being matched with another student.

Elementary/Middle School Students and Teachers
At the elementary level, the Best Buddies chapter is basically an in-school friendship club that focuses less on disability and more on creating friendships between everyone in the chapter. We want students to recognize their similarities, not their differences, and learn to accept everyone for who they are, bonding over what they have in common. Children will learn what it means to be a good friend and will develop their listening and teamwork skills through activities and games.
Adults with an Intellectual Disability
Adults with intellectual disabilities who are receiving services from one of our partners can volunteer to be matched in a one-to-one friendship with a university or college student. Please contact Best Buddies at info@nullbestbuddies.ca or 1-888-779-0061 to find out if you are eligible.
Agency Partnerships
Each University/College Best Buddies chapter requires a host site. A host site is a group home, supported employment program or community association, working directly with adults with intellectual disabilities, that forms a partnership with Best Buddies to recruit and match Buddies with students.
If you would like more information on creating a partnership with us, contact Best Buddies at info@nullbestbuddies.ca or 1-888-779-0061.
